Manpreet Kaur Teji joined the Sikh Coalition as a Senior Policy Fellow in 2025.

Manpreet is a dedicated policy expert on issues related to immigration. She most recently served in the Biden-Harris Administration as the Director for Immigration Policy for the Domestic Policy Council at the White House. Prior to that, she spent five years in the U.S. Senate, including as Immigration Counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Durbin(IL). Manpreet began her career on Capitol Hill as an APAICS fellow with U.S. Representative Judy Chu (CA-27) in September 2017.

In addition to her professional work, Manpreet previously was actively involved in Sikh camps across the Midwest, and is deeply committed to supporting and empowering the Sikh community.  She earned her law degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2017 and her Bachelor’s in Economics from Saint Louis University in 2012.
